Occupational health and safety for workplaces with less than 50 employees and less dangerous workplaces
The provision of occupational health and safety trainings for less than 50 employees and less dangerous workplaces entered into force as of 01.01.2025 within the scope of 6331 Occupational Health and Safety Law. The law, which was postponed to 31.12.2024 in accordance with the Law No. 7491, started definitively as of January 1, 2025. Businesses with less than 50 employees and in less dangerous classes will be able to provide occupational health and safety training to their employees. The employer or the employer's representative will be able to provide occupational health and safety training (OHS) to its personnel by obtaining authorization and certification.
Appointment of Workplace Physician and Occupational Safety Specialist
In addition to the obligation of “Occupational health and safety services”, public institutions, workplaces with fewer than 50 employees and workplaces classified as less dangerous are obliged to employ a workplace physician and occupational safety specialist. However, if the employer meets certain conditions, they can continue their training within their own organization.
The employer or the employer's representative may carry out occupational health and safety services (OHS) within their own organization, provided that they complete the trainings determined by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The employer or the proxy may provide all other trainings to its personnel, except for recruitment and periodic examinations and examinations.
Maintaining Occupational Health and Safety Services by the Employer
Workplaces with less than 50 employees can maintain Occupational Health and Safety Services within their own organizations.
